Roles
Director
I draw upon my education and training at VCU and BU as well as my experiences as a performer and choreographer to realize a new vision of a playwright's intent.
As I evolve as a director, I continue to be curious about what audiences and artists learn through performing arts.
Choreographer
Movement is a necessary component to storytelling. I work with movers and dancers of all levels to realize clear and strongly embodied choreography.
Each time I choreograph a musical or stage a theatrical event, I learn more about physical expression.
Performer
An actor's performance is the result of the collaborative work of playwrights, composers, directors, choreographers, designers, musicians, and technicians.
From audition to closing night, I strive to respect and learn from the artists who make my work possible.
College & University
When students participate in classes and productions, they engage in community building and self-discovery.
In my various creative and leadership capacities in rural community college and urban university settings, I have seen the educational impact that theatre has on students from all walks of life.
Professional & Community
I believe that everyone who wants to do theatre should do theatre. Community theatre has the power to make storytelling accessible to a broad spectrum of audiences; I am fortunate to apply professional experience in these settings. And, my professional background has allowed me to create invaluable relationships.
